When I first began reading this story I didn’t know what to expect, however, I am always on the look out for different or unusual stories and DANCING ON THE HEAD OF A PIN by Kiernan Kelly certainly qualifies. This is a story about angels, demons and the end of the world and I really enjoyed it. Cael and Malak are a lot of fun. I laughed out loud at their antics more than once. Their relationship is loving and gentle yet burning hot at the same time. This is a quirky and refreshing erotic romance.

During the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, novice angel Malak allowed himself to be distracted by the lewd behaviour he was supposed to be wiping off the face of the earth. His wings damaged, he was helpless and alone when he was saved by Cael – a demon.

For a couple of millennia, Cael and Malak have lived together in a constant state of unresolved sexual tension. If Cael can bed Malak before a certain period of time elapses, he will share part of the angel’s soul and will be free of Hell. Cael’s been trying to get into the angel’s pants for centuries without any success, but now time is against him – and Lucifer’s lieutenant Asmodai can’t wait for Cael to be sent back to Hell. Asmodai and his interesting body parts have great plans for Cael.

It’s not spoiling anything to reveal that Malak finally gives his virginity to Cael. In fact, after the angel and demon become lovers, that’s when the fun really begins. Asmodai, unwilling to give up his lust for Cael, reveals that the End of Days is about to begin. Together, Cael and Malak must reconcile their differences and fight the incarnations of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse – even if it means the destruction of their love.

This was a fun story that kept me entertained from the first page to the last. Kiernan Kelly has a wicked sense of humour and a deft touch, balancing the laughs with sexy love scenes and the deepening romance between Malak and Cael.

Naturally the demons get all the best lines. The Four Horsemen are hilarious – I particularly liked Mephistopheles’s disguise and the way everyone ragged him about Dr Faustus – and the Third Horseman, Famine/Pestilence, is a stroke of side-splitting genius.

I’m not sure Thomas Aquinas would approve, but I thoroughly enjoyed this novella. Recommended if you’re looking for some light-hearted fun with a satisfying romance.

Logan Ashton takes the job of assistant to Dr Perry, Curator of Relics in the Museum of Natural History. Dr Perry is not known for his charm or his leniencies, so when Logan stumbles across an authentic-looking sarcophagus, he knows he is risking his job but still finds himself compelled to open it. In doing so, he unwittingly awakens the cursed mummy of Seti, a 5000 year old mummy and a past king of Egypt who was cursed by his god Setekh.

Knowing that if he was found anywhere near the broken sarcophagus or in the presence of a gorgeous naked man, he would not only be facing unemployment but most likely jail time as well. Getting Seti some clothes and getting hidden is Logan’s main priority. It’s not until he has time to think that he realizes Dr Perry must have been up to something more sinister, to be hiding a perfectly preserved sarcophagus that no one else knows about.

They soon find out that it’s not the police that they have to worry about; it’s a rich scientist that is determined to find Seti and experiment on him to find the secret to immortality. Logan starts to become a little overwhelmed as he struggles to come to grips with the fact that he has fallen in love with a 5000 year old mummy who has assassins after him and an Egyptian god set on destroying him once and for all.

I loved this book from the first page! Logan is a wonderful hero and I quickly fell in love with him. The interaction between him and Seti is amazing to watch as Seti struggles to adjust to modern life. Both soon start to fall for each other and I found myself eagerly turning the pages to find out what was going to happen next. The villains in this book are both well thought out but bone-chillingly real, which only added to my enjoyment as I waited to find out how the book would end.

I can highly recommend this book to anyone that wants a great book that is erotic, funny and suspenseful with an intricate and well-thought-out plot. Kiernan Kelly has really impressed me with this book and I am going to be eagerly awaiting any more of this author’s books.

Waiting for Dimi is an awesome story so full of emotion and history between James and Dimi that at the end you will feel as though you have lived their life along with them.  These two will make you fall in love with them and have you laughing at their adventures as they grow up while they build the anticipation of the moment when they finally come together.  If you have never read anything by Kiernan Kelly before Waiting for Dimi is the perfect place to start as James and Dimi are so vividly written that you will be pulled into the story from the first word.  I hope that Kiernan Kelly brings these two back soon as they were wonderful to read.  Waiting for Dimi is the perfect read for a day you are looking for a story that will satisfy your cravings for romance and happy endings – get it today, you won’t regret it!

BALLIN' THE JACK is erotically fulfilling. I don't read a lot of male/male erotica, but Kiernan Kelly just taught me what I was missing. What an amazing story! I was hooked from the very first sentence and so disappointed that it had to end. Jack, to me, was very sexy, even though he didn't have the body of most male characters. I think that's why he was much more endearing to me. He was such a down to earth and normal guy. John on the other hand, was sexy with a capital S! John has a great body, great moves and is completely in control of both the situation and Jack. These two men together scorched the pages! I wouldn't have minded being in on the action, that's for sure. Thank you, Kiernan Kelly, for showing me how wonderful male/male erotica really can be!

I began reading Love in a Lock Up expecting a hot book. I got so much more. Let’s take the sex out of the stories for a moment. What you are left with are stories with incredible plots, excellent character development and wonderful writing styles. Add the sex back in and you have a collection of stories that will have you drooling as you read. I have two stories in the collection that are my absolute favorites. Red by Kiernan Kelly is the story of a giant of a man who takes his new cellmate under his wing and under his body. My other favorite is The Goodwife of Cell Block D by Ginger Mayerson which is about two men who fall in love and are separated by prison politics and yet long to be together. Both these stories made me cry! Each story is poignant and special. Love in a Lock-Up is edited by Eric Summers who has done a wonderful job mixing the stories up and creating a flow that makes the book a fabulous read. I highly recommend it.

Wow. The opening scene of Riding Heartbreak Road sucked me right into this book. The rodeo came to life. It was as though I was there, sitting in the stands, watching Jake ride. Then Ms. Kelly introduces Brent. He is a complete contrast to Jake, but again the scene played like a film before me. Now I was expecting this to continue and I was not disappointed. There are heart breaking scenes as well as heart-warming scenes, not to mention the downright sizzling ones. When these two are together, lust slinks and slithers around every inch of their bodies and emotions, until there is nothing left but heat, love and sexual satisfaction. But expressing your desire for another man is not something to do in a conservative, homophobic town. Brent and Jake bare the full brunt of the town’s wrath when someone outs them. This just made these two characters sink their claws deeper into my emotions as I raced to find out exactly what happened next. Ms. Kelly reminds me of the storytellers of old, with the richness of her narrative and her ability to capture the emotions of these two men, which meant that I relished every minute of this book. I am certainly looking forward to the next book from her.

"Riding Heartbreak Road" has well-described, functional characters. The lead character, Jake Goodall, is a bull rider. He's stuck in the small time, hopes to win a championship someday, but that requires money, and wins, and sponsorships. And he's gay, and stuck in a small town that sounds like it might have an active mission of Westboro Baptist there; he can't even get a date if he wants to keep his head on his shoulders. It's romantic, it has enough exposition to make it interesting but not dull, and I learned a little about bull-riding. It's absolutely readable.

RIDING HEARTBREAK ROAD involves two different men who meet by chance, have one night together, thinking that will be all, and each ends up realizing they have met the love of their lives. Jake is a plainspoken cowboy who barely finished high school, and has a subtle sense of humor. He is as down to earth as the day is long. Brent is a wealthy businessman who does not hide his sexual orientation, and finds himself trying to deal with Jake’s many hang ups. Events conspire to keep them in each other lives long after they agree to part. Brent and Jake’s relationship takes place in a world that seems very real, they confront prejudices, attacks from locals and Jake’s parents. This story reminded me of BROKE BACK MOUNTAIN, except a much happier version.

As months and years pass, what readers are left with is a couple who manages to build a life together despite the odds. The dialogue is very good and feels real, and readers will like Brent and Jake. They get their happily ever after but the ending of RIDING HEARTBREAK ROAD might have readers asking, ‘Why?’ RIDING HEARTBREAK ROAD is a heartbreaking but terribly good read and will take readers on an emotional and turbulent ride, and I recommend it. Pick up your copy today.

Riding Heartbreak Road is the perfect title for this angst filled story. Jake and Brent go through the pain of injury and intolerance as well as the joy of unconditional love and acceptance. I love the instant and deep attraction Jake and Brent have for each other; they are very loving and passionate men. Riding Heartbreak Road is an emotional story with an incredibly moving ending that left me speechless.

Change of Heart is one of those stories which seems fairly simple on the surface, then reveals a series of complex levels. The ever-intensifying plot changes and the emotions building, first between Dae and Jack in Dae's flashbacks, and then between Sean and Dae, will make this a story to linger in the reader's mind for quite some time to come. The paranormal element is treated in a realistic manner, and adds to the intensity of the story line. Kiernan Kelly is an author to watch.

Kiernan Kelly really wowed me with A Change of Heart. The emotions Dae experiences through the book elevate the story from the run of the mill werewolf story. From betrayal by Jack to the anticipation of new love with Sean, Kiernan Kelly does an amazing job expressing Dae’s emotions. Sean’s love for Dae is constant and strengthens his acceptance of Dae’s werewolf half. One of the most stirring parts of the book for me was Dae and Sean’s response to a fire at their clinic. The honest emotion they feel will not leave you unaffected. Jack is a man you will love to hate and he never has a redeeming moment in the entire book. Kudos to Kiernan Kelly for creating such a wonderful story

Aside from the romance readers will be enthralled by this evil that has been set free to kill. The Native American aspect of the story is fascinating with the belief in reincarnation and its stories of gods and goddesses. Readers will be anxious to discover the final outcome of the confrontation that is destined. Readers may need to be warned about the large amount of violence and bloodshed described throughout the story. Some scenes are quite gruesome in description but they get the point across about the need to stop the killing. Two Spirits by Kiernan Kelly is recommended to the readers as a fascinating thriller and passionate romance.

I truly enjoy this latest from Kelly. If you are a fan of Torquerepress, you will notice how prolific this writer is. "In Bear Country" is her 6th release with Torquerepress and she has given as much more than just a M/M romance. Her description of the setting in the Colorado mountains as winter melts into spring is extremely vivid and she certainly does not shy away from gory details in her story. Pride and Bear are extremely likable. Pride may be young but already a war veteran and his plight in the beginning is most touching. Bear is hunted and haunted by his past but so gentle in character. From strangers to friends to lovers, Kelly has certainly given us a most heartwarming romance as these 2 lonely men found solace in and love with each other. Add in a psychotic villain and treasure hunt, this M/M romance is one enjoyable read indeed! And what better way to end a romance then the couple able to fulfill their dreams! Most enjoyable and heartwarming M/M romance with a fine plot.

In Bear Country is a terrific book. Set in the late 1860’s, Kiernan Kelly stays true to the speech of the time and expertly leads readers on an exciting journey. Bear is a compelling character. He is an honest man who had never been with a man. Bear takes Pride in without a second thought. Pride seems to have the worst luck and yet he doesn’t allow that to get him down. The love between the two men begins as friendship and acceptance and evolves into passion. In Bear Country is a book I will read again and again!

In Bear Country is a finely detailed and richly descriptive historical tale of the difficult life in the Rockies in the late 19th century. The warmth, richness, and deep character delineation readers have come to expect from prolific author Kiernan Kelly are all present. In addition, a rapid-paced plot with exciting subplots keep the reader turning pages. The friendship and budding romance and sensuality between the innocent Bear and the hapless Pride are both heartwarming, and inspiring. In Bear Country is another definite winner from Kiernan Kelly.
